Tap, toilet and shower repairs
Everyday plumbing problems are easy to put off, but a dripping tap or a cistern that never stops running wastes water, adds to your bill and usually gets worse. Our plumbers fix and replace kitchen mixers, basin taps, shower mixers, toilet cisterns and pans for houses, units and rental properties. We give you honest advice on whether a repair or a new fixture makes more sense.
What we fix and install
Dripping and leaking taps
New washers, cartridges and spindles for kitchen, bathroom and laundry taps, or a new mixer if the old one's tired.
Running and leaking toilets
Inlet valves, flush valves, seals and buttons replaced so the cistern fills and stops as it should.
Toilet replacements
Removing old toilets and installing new close-coupled, wall-faced or in-wall cistern suites.
Flexi hoses and stop taps
Swapping out worn braided hoses and stiff or leaking isolation valves before they fail.
Problems worth fixing sooner rather than later
These are small jobs, but leaving them often makes them bigger.
- A tap that drips after it's turned off. Worn washers or cartridges only get worse, and a constant drip adds up over a year.
- A toilet that keeps refilling or hissing. Water trickling into the bowl is a common hidden waste of water.
- Water around the base of the toilet. Could be a failed seal at the pan connector or a leaking cistern.
- Taps that are stiff, wobbly or hard to turn off. Worn internal parts or loose mounting.
- A shower that keeps dripping. Often a worn cartridge or washer in the mixer.
- Rusty or bulging flexi hoses. These can burst and flood a kitchen or bathroom, so replace them early.
Repair or replace?
For most taps, a repair is quick and cost-effective. Older-style taps with washers can usually be fixed by replacing the washer and reseating the valve. Modern mixers use a cartridge, which can be replaced if parts are available. If the tap body is corroded or parts can't be sourced, a new tap is often the better choice.
Toilets are similar. Most running cisterns just need a new inlet or outlet valve. If the pan is cracked, the cistern is very old or you want a more water-efficient suite, we can supply and install a new toilet.

Common questions
Can you install a tap or toilet I've bought myself?
Yes, in most cases. We'll check it's suitable and that all the parts are included before we start.
How much water does a running toilet waste?
It depends on the leak, but a constantly running cistern can waste a lot of water. It's worth fixing promptly.
Do you replace in-wall cisterns?
Yes. We service and repair in-wall cisterns through the access panel behind the flush plate.
Can you fix a mixer tap or does it need replacing?
Many mixers just need a new cartridge. We'll check if parts are available for your model and recommend the better option.
